Taking care of your new tattoo..
Proper aftercare is essential to ensure your tattoo heals well and looks its best. Please follow these instructions carefully:
1. Cleaning: Wash your tattoo twice a day with antibacterial soap (Dial is great) and lukewarm water. Pat it dry with a clean paper towel—do not rub. Keeping it clean is crucial to preventing infection.
2. Clothing: Wear loose clothing that does not cling to or rub against the tattooed area. This helps prevent irritation and allows your tattoo to breathe.
3. Moisturizing: Apply a gentle, fragrance-free lotion at least three times a day. I recommend Lubriderm because it’s light and buildable, but any mild, unscented lotion will work. Avoid heavy ointments unless specifically advised.
4. Healing Process: Your tattoo will naturally flake as it heals. If any areas develop scabs, do not pick or scratch them—they will fall off on their own without affecting the ink.
5. Healing Time: Your tattoo should be fully healed within one to two weeks. If irritation occurs, please don’t wait to consult your tattoo artist or physician.
By following these steps, you’ll ensure your tattoo heals beautifully. Congratulations on your new tattoo, and take care of your new ink!
